About The Role:
SERA is seeking a passionate and committed Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. Leveraging your technical expertise in data analysis and modeling, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive value for growers. This role focuses on deep dive analysis of customer data, including plant, climate, labor, nutrient, and integrated pest management (IPM) data. You will work closely with our Delivery Team to deliver customer projects and compile insights that enhance our platform's capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, independently driving projects with full ownership of tasks and the liberty to choose the best solutions
- Collaborate within the Delivery team to ensure that customer projects are delivered on time.
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis on customer data (plant, climate, labor, nutrient, IPM). Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and reports.
- Develop advanced models and visualisations for greenhouse optimisation and apply innovative analytics, statistics and machine learning to improve product features.
- Implement algorithms, such as classification, clustering, filtering, time-series analysis, regression and statistical inference.
- Understand and apply different data transformation techniques and algorithms.
- Support the integration of new data features into our platform by working closely with software engineers.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in data science, statistics, or a related field.
- Proven track record building data products with statistical inference and machine learning approaches such as regression analysis, classification, clustering and predictive models.
- Quantitative aptitude - you must possess a firm grasp of Statistics and Mathematics and Hypothesis testing among other things
- Practical experience in data analysis and modeling, preferably in the agricultural sector.
- Proficiency in using data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or similar. Experience in data extraction and processing using SQL
- Ability to handle large datasets and perform complex data manipulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Data-oriented personality, with good communication and documentation skills.
- EU Blue Card or work permit in Germany.
